Delhi Doctor Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Domestic Helper in Greater Kailash

New Delhi: A shocking murder case has emerged from South Delhi’s upscale Greater Kailash area, where a doctor has been arrested for allegedly killing his domestic helper and attacking her with a bat and knife.

The victim, identified as Meena (45), was found dead on the terrace of a residential building on Thursday. Her body was discovered lying in a pool of blood, sending shockwaves through the neighbourhood.

According to police, a PCR call was received around 11:30 am informing authorities that a woman had been murdered on the rooftop of a nearby building. A police team immediately rushed to the scene and found the victim dead.

Officials said a man was present near the body when police arrived. He was taken into custody and later identified as Dr. Manish Gupta, who allegedly employed the victim as a domestic helper for several years.

During preliminary questioning, the accused allegedly confessed to attacking the woman with a cricket bat before stabbing her with a knife. Police have recovered both the bat and the knife from the crime scene and sent them for forensic examination.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Hemant Tiwari said investigators are trying to establish the exact motive behind the killing. The accused has been arrested, and further questioning is underway.

The gruesome murder has left residents of the area stunned, particularly because it comes just months after another high-profile crime in the locality involving the alleged rape and murder of a young woman.

Police teams are examining forensic evidence, witness statements, and the background of the accused and victim to reconstruct the events leading up to the crime.
