Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh: A roadside eatery owner was seriously injured after being allegedly stabbed by two customers who reportedly refused to pay for their meal in Balrampur district, police said.
The incident took place on Wednesday under the jurisdiction of Kotwali Nagar Police Station, sparking concern among local traders and residents.
According to police, Rahul Sonkar, who operates a roadside food stall in the area, was attacked after two men allegedly attempted to leave without settling their bill. When the dhaba owner demanded payment for the food they had consumed, an argument reportedly broke out.
During the confrontation, the accused allegedly attacked Sonkar with a sharp-edged weapon, causing serious injuries. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Police identified the accused as Raju Singh and Sanjay Singh. Acting swiftly after the incident, officers launched a search operation and arrested both suspects.
Circle Officer (City) Jyotishree said the weapon allegedly used in the attack has also been recovered and seized as evidence. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway
